“He Restoreth My Soul” Part 2
Following our “Painting With A Twist” opening the clergy spouses of our diocese stayed over for a meditative retreat led by our own Evoleon (Marilyn) Hill. One of the parts of the retreat was learning to be present with life. Below you will find Sherre Henley’ photo journal.

“He Restoreth My Soul”
March 11-13, 2016 the CSA of the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida held their annual Spring Gathering. We opened with a Wine and Cheese Reception followed by dinner and a painting activity that was all opened to all clergy as well as our CSA members.

“Beard extension” for the Canon to the Ordinary!
The painting activity was led by a nationally known group called “Painting With A Twist”. The piece we worked on was “The Faith Tree”. It was very interesting to see the number of different interpretations of the same lesson.
It was a fun night for all who came.
Here are some pictures from the night for you to enjoy.

Naples Deanery Clergy Family Picnic

Jan Maiocco announces the prize for the biggest contribution of non perishable food items for St. Matthew’s House.

The Rev. Tara McGraw prepares the buffet table in readiness for the cooked foods while the Maiocco and Allison girls wait to eat.
Sunday, August 24th, more than 25 members of the Clergy and their families of the Naples Deanery gathered at the Delnor Wiggins State Park and Beach for a Picnic and Beach Party. Clergy families from each and every congregation in Naples and Marco Island were represented as well as the Durnings from the Diocese. They welcomed new people and Bid a fond farewell to others.
The group welcomed new members such as The Rev. Jean Hite, who just began at St. Mary’s Church in Bonita Springs as an Assistant and Dr. Richard Gonzalez and his wife Esther who is the new Postulant for Holy Orders who is helping at St. John’s Church and The Rev. Bill Faupel and his wife Bonnie who are helping at St. Paul’s Church.
As Naples Deanery was getting new people, they also lost some to the Tampa Deanery. The Rev. Roy Allison and his wife Marcia and daughter Heather were moving to St. Mark’s Church as the new Rector Family. The Rev. Alice Sadler was moving to be the new Assistant at St. John’s Church and School in Hyde Park.
The group shared stories, played games, brought non perishable food items for St. Matthew’s House, and ate hamburgers and hot dogs. At the end everyone watched as Marcia fulfilled the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS with Fr. Kyle Bennett’s help in pouring (ever slowly) the ice water on her head as Fr. Roy recorded the entire agonizing process. Fun was had by all – just look at the pictures.
