Save the Date 2018 Spring Retreat

2018 CSA Spring Gathering & Retreat

Looking Back to Move Forward

The theme for the 2018 retreat draws inspiration from the

Celebration of the Diocesan 50th Anniversary, the great blessing

of a diverse and unified clergy spouse association, and the spiritual

meaning of the Cross of Jesus Christ as we seek to know Him.

Lovely Account of the Retreat from one of our Newest Members

My experience at the annual Diocese of Southwest Florida CSA retreat was extremely meaningful and one that I will absolutely clear my calendar for in the future.  This was my first time since leaving the comforting folds of seminary (a little less than a year ago) that I have been able to be together in a group with other clergy spouses.  I did not realize how much I missed this special camaraderie and even though I had only met a few of the members previously, I immediately felt welcomed and at ease.

The program led by The Rev. Barbara Price was thought provoking and required intense self-reflection, but in a way, that was positive with both clear takeaways and room to keep pondering.  The discussions that arose about our personality types and how they influence our everyday lives, roles as clergy spouses, and individual prayer lives were refreshing, inspiring, and even hilarious at times!  I particularly appreciated that there was a solid two-and-a-half-hour time set aside in the afternoon for individual prayer and reflection.  I was only able to attend the Saturday program, but this was well worth my while and I hope to be able to spend at least one night next year!

This year, the CSA welcomes Rev. Barbara Price to lead our retreat in a journey exploring the idea of prayer experiences being based on the direction of personality temperament.  Enjoy this spiritual and social experience in the natural surroundings of DaySpring Episcopal Retreat Center.

Barbara has served for nearly eight years as the Chaplain to the Community of Spouses/Partners of the House of Bishops.  In the past, she has taught at Bexley Hall Seminary, served as Director of the Bexley Institute for the training of priests and deacons in local formation programs in several dioceses, and was the Bishop’s Canon for over 14 years in the Diocese of Western New York.  Barbara received her training in spiritual direction through St. Joseph Center for Spirituality.  She is the Director of Morningstar Ministries, which offers programs and retreats and she teaches in a broad range of areas including leadership and congregational development and the training of spiritual directors.
